What is LexiUp?
LU

LexiUp is an app that helps you grow your vocabulary in the language you are learning.

A few words a day reach you as notifications and sit on your home screen widget - that part asks nothing of you. The only thing needed from you is to open the app for two minutes in the evening and take a short test.

Which language can I learn with you?
LU

German for now - from the basics up to B1.

English is planned next.

I already use another app for German.
LU

Good. Keep it.

I am not competing for your evening - I fill the gaps you already spend looking at your phone anyway. You probably already go to a course or work with a teacher - or you simply live where German is spoken. What you are short of is vocabulary.

Learn while:

🏢you work
🌴you rest
👨‍🍳you do what you love
So how does the learning actually work?
LU

It has three parts, and two of them need nothing from you:

Notifications through the day - the words come to you.
The widget on your home and lock screen - the whole set stays in front of you.
A short test in the evening - it checks what stuck.

How many words a day?
LU

6, 9 or 12 - you choose. You also pick the hours when I may reach you, and you can set a different window for each weekday.

Will that not get annoying?
LU

You choose the hours - outside them, silence.

Each word arrives three times a day, with gaps between. Forgetting and recovering is what makes it stay.

experience

Read it on the lock screen and that is it - already part of the learning.

And the same word sits in the widget - with its transcription, plural and an example:

dieSchule
[ˈʃuːlə]die Schulen
school
Die Schule beginnt um acht.
What happens in the evening?
LU

A test on the words that arrived during the day.

The ones you answered correctly move to the Learned section. The ones you got wrong come back to you later, in a following set.

Learning should not require stepping away from your day.

What can I actually learn?
LU

Basics: the alphabet and its reading traps, articles and what they are for, pronouns across three cases, prepositions, numbers, telling the time, days and months.

A1, A2, B1: the most frequent German words, with verbs sorted by how often they really appear rather than by textbook order.

Each grammar rule is a short lesson, then the words that use it.

What does it cost?
LU

You can learn for free - but for that to be possible, we have to show you ads.

Or you pay once for Lifetime, and there are none at all.

Do I need internet for this?
LU

No. The notifications are scheduled on your phone, not sent from a server - they arrive on a plane, in the underground, with no SIM at all.

Your progress lives on the device too. The cloud only holds a backup, so a new phone does not cost you your history.

Which languages do you speak?

Learn German through the language you actually think in.

Convenient. Simple. On your terms.

And between the words - what does the widget show?
LU

Like this, on your home screen - the countdown to the next batch and the words that are coming.

Until learning
7:40:12
Next words:
dasHaus
dieKatze
derHund
lernen

You will see it a dozen times a day without ever opening the app. That is the whole trick.

How do I start?
LU

Easy. Just install the app from this link.
